Why Blog?

Someone asked a question- why should you spend the time writing posts for a blog? There is a simple answer: blogs have become essential information and news sources.

Think about it for a moment. In the past, you had to own a newspaper, radio station or television station to reach a large number of potential readers, listeners or viewers. The Internet and the availability of blogging tools...such as the one this note will be posted to...has somewhat altered this equation. Almost anyone with access to a computer and the Internet can create an electronic publication that can reach across the globe. It also means that in a free society, a diversity of opinions and voices can be heard. And in an election year, this is particularly salient.

Finally, writing a blog post in of itself does not guarantee that it will be read. But in one sense, that's not the important point. The important issue is that has the potential to be read.
